Statement Of Beliefs

Zealous Ministries affirms the essential elements of the Christian faith:

1. God. There is only one true God, the Father. He has revealed himself in the Scriptures by the name YHWH. God is a spirit that is absolute, infinite, and unchangeable.

2. Scripture. Scripture is the speaking of God. It is the only sufficient and infallible rule for what people should believe and how they should live.

3. Creation. In the beginning, God created the world. Other than God, all things have their origin, sustenance, and purpose ultimately in God.

4. Humankind. God created humankind in his image. He made the first two human people, Adam and Eve, and made them live on the Earth. All people have sinned against God, and deserve everlasting death as their rightful penalty.

5. Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is truly God in the same sense as the Father, yet distinct from the Father. At the right time, he was conceived and born of the virgin, Mary of Nazareth, and thus became also truly human. He lived in perfect obedience to God, and died by crucifixion, but rose back to life on the third day. Then, he went up into Heaven, where he now dwells with the Father.

6. Salvation. Jesus died for all those who believe in him, suffering their death penalty in their place, so that they would be saved from that death penalty, forgiven of all their sins, and made right with God forever. Thus, this salvation is freely given by God, and can only be received by believing in Jesus. A person who truly believes in Jesus will seek to live according to God’s law by God’s help.

7. Last Things. Jesus will come back into this world to make all things right forever. God will raise all people back to life, and judge each person righteously. He will give everlasting life to all those who are saved, but condemn all those who are lost to everlasting death.
