The Trinity
Asher Chee |The Trinity is the biblical concept that the one true God exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The concept of the Trinity includes these biblical truths:
- There is only one true God. This is monotheism. It is not true that there are multiple Gods, or that God is made up of multiple parts.
- Three persons are truly God. They are: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God in the same sense, since they share the same being.
- These three persons are distinct. They are not the same person. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father.
The term “Trinity” is a convenient label for these biblical truths together. If each of these truths are biblical, then the concept of the Trinity is true according to the Bible.
